Experience Review 2

12/10-16/10/09 (2nd week)

Well, this week is a quite inactive week. I meant the the 2D graphic department in Vsign is recieving less jobs for this week. My college told me that this is quite normal when 3D works haven't get approved. Luckly, I had joined 'AD UNPLUGGED' on Wed to make this week sounds a bit interesting.

I was almost half an hour late to be there because of the time counting mistake. I took taxi there and it cost me bout rm8++ for 5mins trip! (I won't take taxi if it is not necessary!) When I reached there I met my collagemates (we miss each other so much!). In the workshop, we are given right to choose 1 out of the 6 creative directors (all from famous advertising agency), and we have chosen a men called 'Szu' (he's recommended by Kelly n Amy) and he is from McCann. I was a bit afraid because the material (idea) I prepared sounds so incomplete when I look at my team mate's. But, rather than blaming myself, I decided to help my group in however way. Every of my team mates has a good idea but we have the same decision to pick Loon's idea (candle+light off) as our final after expanding it. Although I thought the idea was good enough, but I was amazed when 'Szu' mentioned the problems of safety in just a very short discussion.
We are either to use other ideas or to solve the problem. We decided to solve it and prose it for the final. The result was announced after few hours, our proposal didn't get chosen. Anyhow, I think we did a good try.

The 2D department remains inactive mode after I went back to work on Wed. I was bored and almost fall as sleep! I decided to learn something since I have so many free time. I decided to learn 3Ds Studio max since my college can teach me and I found out it can be quite useful for me to pursue animation in the future! Initially, I sit beside my college to see how he operate the software and then I try to use it next. But, as I predicted it is not easy and I was confused by the command and tools! I was realized that actually there 15 or more variety of software that used just to create 3D effect! But somehow, I choose 3D Studio max first. The rest? Perhaps I'll learn if I have more free time.

I decided to have some other activity (listening to songs) rather than just sitting in front of a computer just to learn a software. And then I figured out some nice songs! At the end of Thurs, I was given a task to design a T-shirt for the company. The requirements of my bos is quite weird but interesting, he wants something like grafitti/illustration style of design on it. Since these styles are my favourite, I enjoy of doing it!
