Experience Review 5

1/11-6/11/09 (week 5)

Today is the beginning of the 2nd month I have work in this company. Suddenly I have a feeling of anxious about my future. because I think my future shouldn't be spending my majority time in an office everyday. Perhaps this is the process that everyone has to go through I think. My director was suddenly realize the appearance of mine and ask about the t shirt design. I let him see the sketches I had done and it was surprised that he pick a design that I think he would not take (he likes something funky I think). I started doing on illustrator after that and this time I am gonna do a better job. I went on modifying the score I had done last time. After adding some details, it looks much realer than last 1. I personally think it looks great but don't know whether others see this or not. The next was graffiti fire! I was thinking straight away to live trace image from websites b but those are watermarked. So I got to create my own flame then. Well it wasn't looked bad as I referred to images. The day ended without finishing the design but will continue on the next day.

My friend was giving out jobs for me to do this morning, and guess what? It is superimposing again!! Well, this was a good time to practice my photo montage skill I guess because I made a smarter decision this time, which is copy and paste the lighting. I told my friend this and she was saying "practice makes perfect", I guess she is right. So, with C&P, works loaded much faster and tidier than last time^^ Then I moved on to t shirt design. I was having difficulties to combine types into the design. So, I was checking mails and fb-ing instead. I did research for my comic illustration too.

I received an order to change some details for Olympia backdrop designs. They faxed those visuals back to me with changes labeled on it, what a smart ways to guide us! This time they go into much detailed information and details as I predicted. Instead of keep thinking on the t shirt, I made up my mind to do Olympia 1st. I did as they told me in the fax but there were some pending changes because I need new images from them as they promised to give. So, moved on to comic sketching again...

I was told to opened mailbox of my friend to get those pictures. And there are extra changes I need to do. So I proceeded to change then. As the extra changes given, I need to go back to previous design that I had done. Well, this time I did observe some places which can be done better, which tell me that checking back previous design is always good for us. The task was finished after few hours, and I received a small job to do meanwhile. It was resizing, converting to visuals and sending output (Nippon Wheel).

I was told that one of the staffs is resigning and today is her last day in this company. What a sad news to be heard because she is such a friendly and responsible girl in the office. I was told the main reason of why she is leaving is because the director still haven't given her an approval letter to be a real staff after 1 year working in the company! She made a great decision of leaving instead of staying in this company I think. I email Olympia backdrop design in the morning. After that, I did some re layout task today (towel panel & Genting GENM).But mostly I spent my time on my illustration today actually. ^^
